The 2009 Stresa Festival PDF Stampa E-mail
The 48th Stresa Festival edition is entitled “Dialogues and meetings”. Why did we call it “Dialogues and meetings”? I personally think we do need to meet and talk to other people, respecting their opinions: this is why we need to meet and talk. The media help us communicating… but do not allow us to meet each other.
The music of the Festival, the concerts, all the events around the Festival give to the people the chance of listening to good music, of talking about this music or simply of expressing themselves.
That’s why we’ll guest very important artists, such as Janine Jansen and Ilja Gringolts or Pavel Berman, who are great violin players; such as Paavo Järvi and Valery Gergiev, conductors who, like me, will feature great scores; such as the London Symphony Orchestra, the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra and the BBC Philharmonic; such as the Jerusalem Quartet…
Then we keep up the tradition of the semi-staged versions of famous operas: we’ll feature Rossini’s “La Cenerentola”, with a great vocal cast.
I hope you all will enjoy this Festival... the venues on Lake Maggiore will represent a fascinating setting for the 2009 Stresa Festival.
