Karl Frisendahl is born in Norrköping, Sweden. He entered the Royal University of Music, Stockholm, in 1989 where his teachers were Jan Anderson and Sven-Erik Eriksson. He has received the Royal Swedish Academy of Music's scholarship. Karl has studied with Joseph Alessi (New York Philharmonic), Per Brevig (Metropolitan Opera). Mark Lawrence (San Francisco Symphony Orchestra and Jay Friedman (Chicago Symphony Orchestra).

From 1995 - 1996 Karl worked as principal trombone in the Danish Radio Concert Orchestra.

In 1996 Frisendahl was appointed principal trombone of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra.

As soloist and chamber musician Frisendahl has appeared with many different orchestras in Sweden, Denmark, USA and Luxemburg.
