A tree with strong roots pushing deep into the earth has branches that thrust high up, skywards. “Between earth and sky” reflects our yearnings, dreams, hopes, and ideals, while we are still in close contact with reality. We can rise up and overcome our difficulties, and imagine a new future, with more solidarity, more fairness. Of course we can!
Music, by its very nature, rises up out of the earth and spreads heaven-wise. Playing music and listening to it frees up our thoughts, so we can examine our innermost selves. It makes the world around us better.
