The two pillars that created the foundation of my composition are a twelve-tone dodecaphonic set of pitches and rhythmical fantasies in the middle part inspired by blues music. The classical A-B-A’ structure allows development of the thematic material in B, as well as a mind soothing moment of recognition in A’.
The A- and A’-parts are constructed linearly, giving the music all the time it needs to develop. Atonal polyphonic melodies alter with increasingly intrusive accented rhythms. The B-part on the other hand is based on up-tempo swing rhythms. There is also a melodic correlation to blues music, but the octatonic or dodecaphonic soundscapes often dominate.
A calm but mysterious coda concludes the tumultuous composition with an open end.
