peirone.jpgBorn in Savona, Matteo Peirone graduated with top score in Classical Literature with a thesis about music at time of Greece Civilization discussed with Umberto Albini.
He studied with Franca Mattiucci, Paolo Montarselo and Renata Scotto. He won a lot of International Lyric Conpetition (“As.Li.Co.” of Milan, “Giuseppe Verdi” of Parma, “Ismaele Voltolini” of Mantova). He sang in the most important Opera Houses in Italy and abroad, doing prime roles and growing up like Buffo.
He is regularly invited at Teatro alla Scala of Milan where he performed: L’elisir d’amore, La bohème, Tosca, Gianni Schicchi, Tales of Hofmann. He sang, under direction of Riccardo Muti Le nozze di Figaro both in Milan and in Ravenna together with Wiener Philharmoniker. He sang further in Genoa at Teatro Carlo Felice (Don Magnifico), Opera of Rome (Bartolo), Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro Regio of Turin (Dulcamara), Teatro Verdi of Trieste (Don Bartolo).
He also sang in: Barbican Hall of London, Champs Élysées in Parigi, Opera du Rhin of Strassbourg, Montpellier, Abao of Bilbao, Seville, Palma of Mallorca, Tenerife, Burgos, Saragoza, Toledo, Staatsoper of Dresden, Frankfurt, Köln, Opera of Bonn.
He recently recorded for Decca the role of Sacrestano in Tosca conducted by Zubin Metha. He was Mamma Agata in the last production of Viva la Mamma at Semperoper in Dresden.
