CasalinBorn in Castiglione dei Pepoli, Luca Casalin debuted as a baritone in Spoleto in Strauss’ Die Fledermaus. He performed in La bohème, Morte dell’aria and in Gnecco’s La prova di un’opera seria. He took part to the fortunate Paisiello’s production of Il barbiere di Siviglia as Figaro, recorded and broadcasted by Rai 1.
After this first stage of his career, he began to feature tenor roles, hence debuting in Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia alongside Leo Nucci.
In 2006 he took part to the world-première of the opera Il dissoluto assolto by Azio Corghi.
Luca Casalin distinguished himself as one of the best tenors of his generation, who has committed to supporting roles. He has performed in all sorts of supporting roles in all the Italian Opera Houses, thus working with the best orchestra conductors among whom Riccardo Muti at Teatro Alla Scala in Milan and Zubin Mehta in Parma.
As an artist, he is appreciated for his skills in performing in supporting roles, which are truly essential for the success of opera productions.
Most recently, he sang in Boris Godunov in Turin, Turandot, Madama Butterfly and Carmen in Arena di Verona, La fanciulla del West in Palermo, Tosca at La Scala in Milano where he will sing in Turandot.
