Atalanta Fugiens was formed by a group of musicians interested in performing the
Baroque, classical and Romantic repertoires on original instruments, according
to a philological interpretation of scores and musical treatises. The musicians
of Atalanta Fugiens are frequent guests of major European concert associations
(Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Koln and Munich Philarmonie, Hamburg Musikhalledi,
Die Alte Oper Frankfurt, Innsbruck Festival, Lucerne Festival, Bremen Festival,
Ljubljana Festival, Bruxelles Festival, Feldkirch Festival, Rome Auditorium,
Turin Lingotto, Music and Poetry at S. Maurizio, Milan) and collaborate
regularly with players of ancient music of international fame, for the labels
Dynamic, Tactus and Teldec. Atalanta Fugiens also records with Amadeus and
Sony/Deutsche Harmonia Mundi. Their repertoire ranges from the first half of
the 18th to the end of the 19th century, including
unpublished and recently discovered works, transcriptions and works of lesser
composers such as Hummel, Ries, Farrenc, Onslow and Brioschi.
