Ars-CanticaFounded in the year 1988 in Milan and, today, made up by professional singers, since the beginning the Ars Cantica Choir came to the attention of public and critics for the versatility, which allows this choir to deal with different musical periods always in the observance of the style and of the technique of each period, from Renaissance to nowadays.
Winner of several choral national and international competitions, Ars Cantica Choir is performing in important festivals and concert seasons in Italy and abroad, such as the International Mozart Festival in Rovereto, the Sagra Musicale Umbra, the Società del Quartetto of Milan, the well-known series Musica e poesia in S. Maurizio (Milan), I Pomeriggi Musicali of Milan, the Teatro Bellini in Catania, the Teatro Due in Parma, the Associazione Scarlatti in Napoli, Ferrara Musica, the Orchestra Sinfonica Marchigiana, the International Choir Forum (Germany), the Festival of Ancient Music in Malaga and Torre del Mar Festival (Spain).
Ars Cantica has enjoyed collaboration with such ensemble as I Virtuosi Italiani, Bergamo Orchestra Stabile, Il Quartettone, Teatro “C. Coccia” Orchestra in Novara, Teatro Comunale Orchestra in Ferrara, Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana, Malaga Symphony Orchestra (Spain).
Recent concerts in Spain (Madrid, Malaga) were critically acclaimed. Collaboration with Riccardo Chailly dates back to 2010.
In February 2011 the choir recorded the première of Mozart’s Requiem in the version for solos, choir and four hands piano by Carl Czerny.
The founder and Chief Conductor is Marco Berrini.
Ars Cantica performed at Stresa Festival in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010.
