Giuseppe Andaloro
andaloro.jpg The Grand Prize winner of the London International Piano Competition 2002, Giuseppe Andaloro, was born in Palermo in 1982.
He studied with the late Sergio Fiorentino and currently is a student of Vincenzo Balzani. Having already graduated with full marks, full honours and distinction from the 'Giuseppe Verdi' State Conservatoire of Music in Milan, he continues his studies there on a post-graduate course.
He has achieved remarkable success in many prestigious international competitions. These include 1st Prize at the 17th 'Cidade de Porto' in Portugal, and 2nd Prize (1st Prize was not awarded) in the 24th International 'Alessandro Casagrande' Competition in Terni in 2000, 1st Prize in the 1st Sendai International Piano Competition in Japan, and 1st Prize at the 19th 'A. Casella' in Naples in 2001. In 2001 he also won the 18th 'Premio Venezia'. 2002 has brought him an outstanding victory in the London International Piano Competition.
Giuseppe Andaloro has performed throughout Italy and abroad as soloist and in concerto performances with internationally acclaimed orchestras. These include the Pleven Philharmonic, Filarmonica of the Milan Conservatoire, Moldova Symphony Orchestra, Latvian Philharmonic, National Symphony Orchestra of Porto, Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, 'Haydn' Orchestra of Trento and Bolzano, Sapporo Philharmonic, Sendai Philharmonic, London Mozart Players and London Philharmonic Orchestra.
His performances have been broadcast on the radio in Italy and further afield. Among them the South African Radio Allegro, Radio Portugal, NHK Tokyo and RAI/TV3. He has performed at the Salzburg FestSpiele, International Chopin Festival Duszniki Zdroj, 'Festival dei Due Mondi - Spoleto', Festival Rittergut Bennigsen di Hannover, the Pleven Festival, the Todi Festival and the 'Perugia Classico 2001' where he has been awarded the 'Tasto d'Oro' as the most promising Italian pianist. He made his debùt at Sala Verdi in Milan, Teatro Malibran in Venice, Auditorium Santa Cecilia in Rome, Sala Scarlatti in Naples, Großes Saal and Wiener Saal of the Salzburg‚s Mozarteum, Royal Festival Hall and Queen Elizabeth Hall of London, Salle Gaveau, Pavillon Baltard and Salle Cortot of Paris, Auditòrios do Rivoli of Porto, Old Mutual Hall of Pretoria, Auditorio Sodre of Montevideo, Sumida Triphony Hall and Casals Hall of Tokyo, Kjtara Hall of Sapporo, Phoenix Hall of Osaka, Izumity Hall and Sendai Cultural Center of Sendai, City Hall of Hong Kong, Theatre Mohammed V of Rabat, Museum Recanati Auditorium of Tel Aviv, etc.
His wide-ranging repertoire spans from Bach and Handel through to Messiaen and Ligeti. Future engagements include concerto performances in Japan, Italy, Poland, France, Germany and the UK with the London Mozart Players.
He is also very interested in composition and conducting. Some of his works have been performed with great success in Japan.
