giuria_conc03.jpgThe International Composition Competition "Settimane Musicali di Stresa" is an initiative launched with the support of the Piemonte Region in an effort to stimulate creativity and interest towards contemporary classical music.

The requisites for the First Competition were for unedited compositions never before performed by an orchestra. The winning score deserved its inaugural performance during the 42nd edition of the International Festival Settimane Musicali di Stresa e del Lago Maggiore and published by Rai Trade Edizioni Musicali.

The winner of the First International Composition Competition Settimane Musicali di Stresa - 2003 was Carla Rebora for her work karumi kana.
The prize was attributed by a majority decision of an international jury headed by Azio Corghi, under the artistic direction of Gianandrea Noseda, among a field of 23 partitions submitted.
