Admitted candidates and course development

Open to young conductors of all nationalities and no older than 30 on 18 August 2009. The Masterclass will be given by Gianandrea Noseda with the participation of the Orchestra of the Royal Northern College of Music (UK) for the entire period of the course. A maximum of eight active students will be admitted. Listeners will be admitted.
The Masterclass will take place in Stresa (VB) from August 18 to 23, 2009. The student who will gain the highest distinction will conduct on 24th August 2009 in the context of the 48th edition of the Stresa Festival.

Admission procedure

Application form must be sent to the Segreteria dell’Associazione Settimane Musicali di Stresa, Via Carducci, 38 - 28838 Stresa (VB) – Italy by and no later than 20th May 2009 including the following data:
  • first name and last name
  • place and date of birth
  • nationality
  • two recent photographs
  • home address, phone numbers, e-mail address
  • curriculum vitae in Italian or English, with particular reference to conducting experiences
  • copy of conducting degree or attendance certificate of conducting courses issued by music conservatories, colleges, music academies, Hochschule
  • certificate of participation in conducting masterclasses and in a final round of conducting competitions
  • letters of reference by important musicians
  • at least one video testifying the experience of the candidate (VHS or DVD, Pal system)
  • receipt of the payment of € 50,00 (fifty/00), enrolment fee, which can be paid on postal account no. 17243288 (IBAN IT64D0760110100000017243288 – BIC/SWIFT: BPPIITRRXXX) or by national or international postal order.
The enrolment fee will be refunded only in the event the Course will not take place.
The eight selected candidates will be notified by 15 July 2009.

Admission fee

The active students will pay € 1.000,00 (onethousand/00). The listener students will pay € 250,00 (twohundredandfifty/00).
Travelling and accommodation expenses must be paid by the student.
