ars-cantica 200x111 Founded in the 1988 in Milan and made up today of professional singers, since its beginning the Ars Cantica Choir attracted the attention of public and critics for its versatility. In fact this choir excels with different musical periods, always observing the style and technique of each period, from the Renaissance to nowadays.
Winner of several national and international choral competitions, the Ars Cantica Choir performs in important festivals and concert seasons in Italy and abroad, such as the International Mozart Festival in Rovereto, Sagra Musicale Umbra, Società del Quartetto of Milan, the well-known series Musica e poesia in S. Maurizio (Milan), I Pomeriggi Musicali of Milan, Teatro Bellini in Catania, Teatro Due in Parma, Associazione Scarlatti in Naples, Ferrara Musica, Orchestra Sinfonica Marchigiana, the International Choir Forum (Germany), Festival of Ancient Music in Malaga and Torre del Mar Festival (Spain).
The Choir has enjoyed collaboration with such ensembles as I Virtuosi Italiani, Bergamo Orchestra Stabile, Il Quartettone, Teatro “C. Coccia” Orchestra in Novara, Teatro Comunale Orchestra in Ferrara, Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana, Malaga Symphony Orchestra (Spain). Recent concerts in Spain (Madrid, Malaga) were critically acclaimed. Collaboration with Riccardo Chailly started in 2010. In February 2011 the choir recorded the première of Mozart’s Requiem in the version for solos, choir and four-hands piano by Carl Czerny.
Marco Berrini is the founder and Chief Conductor.
The Choir sang at the Stresa Festival in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011.
