Concorso Internazionale di Composizione “Settimane Musicali di Stresa” – 2007,
for the orchestration Sei Lieder per Voce
e Orchestra, Luca Vago was born in Merate (LC) in 1971.In 1996 he graduated
in piano at the Conservatory G.B. Nicolini of Piacenza and one year later he
graduated in law at the Milan University. In November 2004 he graduated in
composition at the Conservatory Giuseppe Verdi of Milan with Alessandro
Solbiati. He attended to seminars and mastercalsses with famous composers like
Claudio Ambrosini, Luis De Pablo, Ivan Fedele, Luca Francesconi, Giacomo
Manzoni, Marco Stroppa, Mirco Gervasoni and, at the moment, he follows the
second year of the biennio superiore of composition at the Conservatory Giuseppe Verdi of Milan
with Alessandro Solbiati. In December 2005 he won the 1st prize at
the Competition of the Milan Conservatory for the composition of orchestral
pieces, with the piece Shining Darkness.
The piece has been in March 2006
in the Orchestra Filarmonica del Conservatorio di Milano
concerts’ season. In January 2006 he has
been selected as Italian composer getting the commission of a composition for the Accademia Jeunesse Moderne 2006 with the support
of the Conservatory of Lion. In December 2006 his tale in music I due Re Giardinieri has been performed
as conclusive concert of the project Perfoming
Arts at the Auditorium Gaber of Milan. In 2007 has been finalist at the
International Competitions of composition Gebrannte
grösse in Tönen und Klängen, promoted by the Landesmusikrat
Mecklenburg Vorpommern (Germany), and Queen
Elizabeth in Bruxelles.
