Children’s chorus of the Teatro Regio and the ‘Giuseppe Verdi’ Conservatory of Torino Print
The Children’s chorus of the Teatro Regio and the ‘Giuseppe Verdi’ Conservatory of Torino came into being at the end of 1997 as a result of the collaboration of these two institutions, and from its inception  was directed by Maestro Claudio Marino Moretti, with Maestro Claudio Fenoglio alternating in July 2008. It performed for the first time at the Regio in the 1997 Christmas concert, and then, the following year,  in Turandot with the direction by Zhang Yimou and  The Nutcracker by Maurice Béjart for the inauguration of the XI edition of ‘Torinodanza’. Since 1999 it has performed as an independent group in numerous concerts around the region for concert associations and volunteer groups. In  2000  it took part in the concert for the Children’s Day at the World Summit in Geneva  during the UN conference for the elimination of child labour, in the presence of Heads of State and UN delegates. Since 2000 the chorus has collaborated with the principal civic concert institutions, including the Rai National Symphony Orchestra, Torino Settembre Musica  and Unione Musicale. In October 2005 it also participated in the International Festival of Children’s Choruses that took place in Torino at the Church of Santa Pelagia. For the Opera Seasons of Teatro Regio, it  participates in at least one production a year,  and is also intensely involved in activities of the School at the Opera and Piccolo Regio Laboratorio.
